So today was meant to be settlement day. I rang the bank yesterday to order a large sum of cash (so I can withdraw my deposit money and put it into my new mortgage account) and silly bank people didn't check their phone yesterday so didn't have the funds today. I was going to have to drive to another branch with both my kids in tow. Really wanting to avoid this, I kept ringing my settlement agent who for some reason was ignoring all my calls and emails. Finally someone answered, turns out my conveyancer had just been fired or quit minutes ago. Great. And she hadn't booked my settlement. At least I don't have to run around chasing money now.
So we got it booked for Tuesday. Luckily we have 3 days grace. I hope this does not affect my promotional rebate.
