So any changes you make to your floorplan after Prestart will incur a $350 variation fee. This is really just to dissuade changes, coz it only takes a few seconds to make the change on paper. What's annoying about this is there has been no progress on my build as yet, but I still have to pay it.
What I'm changing is the conduits in my theatre internal wall. After speaking to my cousin who is an electrical expert, one spare conduit is definitely not enough for all the future technological endeavours we wish to pursue. (Wall mounted TV and associated entertainment, ceiling speakers, alarm system).

So I have to add like 6 conduits and all kinds of wiring around the house for the reeds and PIR's for alarm.
I'll also add the light fittings for the portico pillars. I was worried about money at Prestart and stinged out on these.
So I'm anticipating around $5000.
And I'll get a quote on adding a couple of pot drawers in my kitchen.
And bricking down the doorless openings in my theatre and study.
It's going to really jump in price, but I think I have no choice. I can't really brick down the entryways later and I know I will want to.
The most annoying thing is that it's going to delay my build a couple of weeks probably. And my partner is just so eager to see a slab, it will crush him when I tell him I'm the cause of further delay.
These decisions are just so hard to make.
