PCI went smoothly, only a few minor things required fixing.
- One gutter corner needed sealing.
- Vanadium staining on bricks to be cleaned
- My dish drainer missing
- Door jamb stopper thing missing
- One wall plate wrong colour
- One wall plate needed patching around it
- Theatre electrical as always.
- Hot Water Unit slab was broken, needs replacing.
So that was two weeks ago and they still haven't fixed these tiny two second jobs, therefore we get keys on the last possible day they are allowed. It's quite annoying.
So I'll just rush and get the keys and then DH will start painting like a madman, try to get the job complete in two days so we can move on the Saturday. I'm hoping the move itself will somehow be quick and stress free with the help of my brothers. I worry how my pets will handle it, especially as there may not be fences, because my Site Supervisor still hasn't bothered to remove the wall railing he installed. The fence guys would have come and gone - I'll bet I have to wait another few weeks before they come back.
Trying to pick liquid limestone pattern and colour has occupied my mind for months. I've decided to get a pattern that is more unique. This should get done in one week. Not being able to drive on it for a few weeks will take the pressure off unpacking stuff in the garage!
I'm in the market for custom concrete planters, looks like I'll have to render it myself. I think it would be pretty easy to build the planter too, but seeing as it'll be at the front of my house, it will be worthwhile to get it done perfectly. I'm now spending thousands of dollars daily on all these kinds of things. Every now and then I get a sick feeling about it, but I try to remember that it's just for now, to finish the house.
The stress of the move and the painting and all the future works is eating into the excitement, but I imagine when we spend our first night there, it will really sink in that we have our dream home.
